A Fond Farewell to Internet Polyglot
Dear Internet Polyglot Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the closure of Internet Polyglot. Since our inception in 2005, we have been privileged to serve the language learning community, providing tools and resources to help polyglots around the globe explore new languages and cultures. Our journey over the past years has been incredibly rewarding, witnessing countless learners expand their horizons through the power of language.
Unfortunately, the reality of maintaining a free subscription model has proven unsustainable for us. Despite our best efforts, the costs associated with keeping our site running have outpaced our resources, leading us to the difficult decision to cease operations.
We want to extend our deepest gratitude to each and every one of you. Your dedication to language learning and cultural exchange has been the driving force behind Internet Polyglot. Your enthusiasm and support have made our community a vibrant and welcoming space for learners of all levels.
As we say goodbye, we wish you all the best in your language learning adventures. May you continue to discover, learn, and connect with cultures across the world. Your passion for languages opens doors to understanding and friendship, and we hope you carry that forward wherever you go.
If anyone within our community is interested in taking over the stewardship of Internet Polyglot, we welcome your inquiries. Our hope is that the spirit of Internet Polyglot can live on in some form, continuing to support language learners in the future.
Thank you once again for being an integral part of our journey. Here's to all the words you've learned and the conversations you'll have.
With heartfelt appreciation,
Mikhail Gavryuchkov Founder, Internet Polyglot
Hello, I'm Johannes Schumann, owner and founder of 50languages.com. It's with a heavy heart that we've learned Internet Polyglot is bidding us farewell. In light of this, we extend a warm invitation to all Polyglots to join our platform. We're offering access to https://www.50languages.com/internetpolyglot to help save on hosting costs. However, it's important to note that the group would need to take on the task of transitioning. Do you think this would be beneficial?

DeleteAh, it's indeed with a heavy heart that I'm seeing this farewell to internetployglot! I have been associated with this site for a long time and have learned a lot from it. It had a huge vocabulary of the different languages and all those games and exercises would make it fun to learn and solidify your knowledge of the language you were learning.
ReplyDeleteI would especially thank Mikhail Gavryuchkov for building and maintaining the site for all those years with free subscription. Mikhail has also been really cooperative and responsive whenever there was a query about anything on the site.
I wish Mikhail Gavryuchkov and the internetployglot team all the best for their future endeavors.
